SUMMARY:TBS Walk for Hunger
DESCRIPTION:Calling all walkers! Join TBS Social Action for our fifth annual Project Bread Walk for Hunger and Food Drive\,  at the Needham Reservoir Trail (500 Dedham Avenue)! On May 4th\, join us between 10am and 12noon to connect with old and new friends and raise funds to support JF&CS Family Table and food pantries throughout Massachusetts where food insecurity continues to increase. Approximately 1.9 million adults or 34% of the state’s households and 1 in 3 households with children report food insecurity. Bring the kids\, a friend\, the dog and your water bottle and walk as far as you desire\, rain or shine. The entire loop is .5 miles long. All ages welcome\, under 15 with an adult. Cash donations will be gratefully accepted. This year\, this event will be extra special as we continue to celebrate 70 years of TBS! DESCRIPTION:Join TBS Social Action as we support WelcomeHome to provide high quality household items to families experiencing hardship so that they can live with dignity. This nonprofit in Newton collects and redistributes like-new household items to hundreds of people in need each month with no fees\, no forms and no requirements. On Wednesday\, May 14th\, from 9:15-9:45\, we will be collecting CLEAN – NEW or LIKE NEW -Blankets\, Bed Sheets and Towels! All sizes welcome\, no rips or stains please! We will be in the front parking lot at TBS\, on the far side from the Temple\, closest to the corner of Webster Street and Highland Ave\, ready to quickly collect your donations from your car as you drive up. SUMMARY:Bag Lunches and Breakfast Items for Homeless Shelters
DESCRIPTION:We are back for our 5th year of this popular and impactful mitzvah project! Please join TBS Social Action as we donate bag lunches and breakfast foods to homeless shelters\, in the Father Bill’s network\, in the Brockton area! \nVolunteers are invited to sign-up to assemble 10 bag lunches\, cases of waters\, condiments\, juice boxes\, and a variety of breakfast items including muffins\, bagels\, ground coffee\, cereal\, yogurts and fruit cups. \nWe will collect your donations from your car\, while you remain seated between 9:15-9:45am on the Webster side of the TBS front Parking Lot.\nPlease email us at socialaction@tbsneedham.org with any questions\, to arrange to make your non-perishable donation at a Needham address prior to the collection or to request to be added to the TBS Social Action mailing list. \nThank you for helping us to feed the stranger. \nRegister here.
