At TBS, we have many opportunities for children to experience the joy of Jewish prayer.  All of our services for children – whether they be for Shabbat or any of the holidays – are filled with song and spirit.
 

Families with young children are invited each month to share in an age appropriate Shabbat service led by our very own Josh Shriber. Each Tot Shabbat service is filled with energy, family warmth, song, and even dance!  We enjoy a delicious treat after our service.

Josh Shriber: Our Tot Shabbat Leader Josh loves music and kids! Josh received his first guitar for his 13th birthday and began teaching himself from songbooks of his favorite musicians. After graduating from college, Josh began giving piano and guitar lessons to support himself. His popularity as a teacher grew throughout his local towns of Newton and Wellesley, and thus, Jammin’ With You! was born. In 2005, Josh became a founding member of the kids rock band Flooky and the Beans, in which he performs regularly as guitar hero Jojo Bean. In addition to Jammin’ with You! and Flooky, Josh teaches Music and Movement classes every morning for children 1-5 years old.

Kehillah (Community) Kids Shabbat is our wonderful Shabbat service experience for kindergarteners/1st graders and their families. This musical service is held several times during the year and is a next ‘step service’ following the Tot Shabbat experience. It features song, simple prayers, and story. We conclude each service with a delicious sweet oneg.

This special monthly service most often occurs on the first Friday of the month. It is a music-filled service that features our wonderful Youth Choir, birthday blessings, and added joyful spirit. While these services do bring together many families, they are inspirational for all ages!

Throughout the year, we have specials services that bring the songs, stories, and prayers of the Jewish holidays to life for our children and their families.
