National Refugee Shabbat and Miles4Migrants
On March 13, at 7:15 pm, TBS will be a proud participant in HIAS’ National Refugee Shabbat, observed by Jews across the country.
With more than 70 million people worldwide who have fled their homes due to persecution and violence, we are now witnesses to one of the largest humanitarian crises in human history. And, yet, current policies are grinding the U.S. refugee admissions program to a halt and cutting humanitarian aid.
Nearly 300 congregations across the world, including TBS, participated in last year's inaugural National Refugee Shabbat. Again, with the American Jewish community, we will dedicate sacred time and space to refugees and asylum seekers, raising awareness and reaffirming our commitment to welcoming those seeking a safe haven.

Attention Road Warriors! Are you looking for a great cause? Consider donating your excess airline miles or credit card and hotel points to Miles4Migrants. TBS Tzedek is partnering with this amazing nonprofit, founded by TBS preschool parent Andy Freedman.
To learn more, please join us for services on Friday March 13th at 7:15 as we observe National Refugee Shabbat. Andy will be speaking about how Miles4Migrants collects airline miles and points from donors to reunite families separated by war, persecution, and disaster. He will be joined by a special guest from the Sudan who was recently reunited with his wife and 11 children. Miles4Migrants provides free airfare for the relocation of refugees and those seeking asylum, including both international refugees as well as families who have been separated at the U.S./Mexico border. Miles4Migrants works with 30+ nonprofit organizations to identify and vet those in need. Flight recipients come from all over the world but have one thing in common: the search for a safer, brighter future.
