Sukkot Pumpkin Hike

Saturday, September 18, 9:00-11:30 am, Dane Park

Register here.

Come explore ancient volcanic rock from 600 million years ago! The rocks in this park were part of islands that slowly migrated here from the South Pole. On your hike, collect a bag of nature finds such as pine cones, sticks, and fallen leaves. Join us in the rock circle to use the nature finds to create your own pumpkin character for Sukkot. We’ll provide pumpkins, tools and instructions. You bring your creativity and a bag to collect your treasures. Bring water, bug spray, and a hat. Dress in layers if the weather is cool.

Designed for families with children 10 and under.

Dane Park is located directly across from Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill. Park in the DPW lot at 870 Hammond Street. Start your hike at the back entrance or walk along Hammond Street to get to the stroller/wheelchair accessible entrance.
