For the Sake of Argument: Spring Etzim Chug

For the Sake of Argument: Spring Etzim Chug

In a world full of differing opinions, it can become very easy to decide that engaging in a conversation is simply not worth it. However, having these hard conversations with an open heart and mind is a Jewish tradition that shows up in so many aspects of our life. We are encouraged to ask hard questions, wrestle with challenging topics, and speak up when we see injustice in our world. Together, we will learn different tools and strategies for having healthy arguments and the value in those types of dialogue. Each week will focus on a different tool, and then we will get a chance to put these into practice. By the end of our trimester together, you will be ready to face those more challenging conversations and be ready to apply your skills to the real world!

5th Grade Exploring Worldwide Jewish Communities

5th Grade Exploring Worldwide Jewish Communities

Sunday, March 15 | 1:00 pm
We are so excited to welcome you to dive into our Jewish communities around the world, ending with our own community right here on Sunday, March 15th, at 1:00 pm.

Over the past few months, we have explored what it means to be a part of the Jewish people and what that looks like in different places around the world- from Mexico, Bulgaria, South Africa, Israel, and more! Our 5th graders are learning about different traditions, starting to think about how they would like to incorporate Jewish traditions and culture into their practice, and seeing how unique (while also similar!) our global Jewish communities can be.

Please join us at TBS to explore these fantastic worldwide Jewish communities, with a culminating activity of discussing as a family what our own Jewish traditions and practices look like as a family and local community and how that shapes our Jewish identities.
