Impact Shabbat

November 20 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join us for an Impact Shabbat on Friday, November 20, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. Following a spiritual Shabbat service, we will gather for dinner and an interactive panel discussion exploring the work, findings, and recommendations of the Massachusetts Special Commission on Combating Antisemitism. The Commission recently released a comprehensive report that can help local leaders and communities understand and respond to the rising threat of antisemitism. This is an important moment to learn what the Commission found, understand its recommendations, and consider how each of us can help turn those recommendations into action. Our panel discussion will focus on what the findings mean for our schools, our communities, and how we can make a difference and participate in the next steps. The discussion will be moderated by Rabbi Jay and will feature a distinguished panel: Rob Leikind, Director of AJC New England and a member of the Massachusetts Special Commission on Combating Antisemitism David Friedman, Executive Vice President of Legal and Government Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer of the Boston Red Sox, and a member of the Commission Melissa Garlick, Vice President at CJP’s Center for Combating Antisemitism, where she works with organizations to turn awareness into action Dinner will be served immediately following services. Join us for an evening of learning, reflection, and conversation as we explore how we can move from witnessing antisemitism to taking meaningful action against it.
